You know, dear friends, I'd only get my very first job offer about 3 months after I had begun my online business. Of course I got very very glad for my first project. And that was short before I decided to take up a test for entering this extraordinary, really profitable and pleasurable system!
Why? In a bird's eye view, I could give good reasons for investing your time and efforts in order to be successful in this business:
First: You do not have to pay for registering at PPCC. So, it is totally risk-free.
Second: You can have full-time support and help through this system, no matter it is that new.
Therefore, dear (future) colleagues, no matter how long you have been into this system, maybe with no satisfactory results yet, please believe me: it really WORKS!
You just have to take your time and NEVER EVER GIVE IT UP, Okay?

Hello,
I have been part of this system for about a year now, and the following lines resume my experience and advice to the new team members.
But you need to be patient on this profession. Think of e-mails like seeds that need some time to grow up and finally produce fruit. And once a tree begins producing fruit, it never stops - if properly looked after.
My first job must have arrived 3 months after the marketing process began. I felt so happy I couldn't believe it. Another period of inactivity followed that job, but then soon enough I got another job, and then another, with shorter inactivity periods in-between every time. Right now, a year later, I can hardly manage all the activity,
and therefore I am considering to work as a supervisor as well as a translator, in order to cope with all the work.
If you want to hear my advice, consider the following:
1) You need to be patient.
2) Trust your supervisor. S/he is not just there to make money with you. Think of him/her as a senior translator who has lived what you are living now, and can support and guide you through the process. Believe that this road cannot be walked alone. In my case I am very independent and did not like my supervisor to oversee every step of my road (which he was very much willing to do), but his mere presence
gave me a sort of psychological boost to work harder. Knowing that you are part of something is important. Remember this once things get better (and they will!).
3) Undertake every job as your last. Translate/proofread/edit/whatever to the best of your capacity, every single time. That way, clients will not only entrust jobs to you, they will also come back. Do not worry if at first clients only seem to assign you minor tasks; naturally they have been working with other translators for a long time and they trust them more than you. Just be patient. Trust has to be earned.
4) Be ready to learn. Be flexible. A freelance translator does not only need to know his/her languages, s/he also needs to know to touch type, and to operate countless computer programs (starting with Trados). Each client is different and will demand different things.
5) And last but no least, have FAITH. Do not fear all the time about payments. 95% of clients are honest ones, and will pay, sooner or later (more later than sooner though, which brings us to point 1 again). Do not wonder if you can actually do it. Just jump to the stage and dance. Degrees and previous knowledge are important, but
what is most important is what you can actually do. Your talent. It IS possible to earn a wonderful income from home working as a freelance translator.
Right now, a year later, I am earning an average of $3,000 per month, investing no more than 6 hours a day. Have faith! You can do it too.

"Patience, commitment and professionalism. Those were the magical words for me. I am not saying that I have "finally achieved what I want in this career" but I am saying that "I am %100 on the right way to have a successful career". Warens DOES give me the chance not only to polish and enhance my skills, but also to maximize them in the best way. For me, the best part is the wise and amazing guidance I am having. It is actually the very main reason I believe joining Warens is the best choice I have made in my career so far because frankly I do DO mistakes but I keep finding someone to push me further and learn from my mistakes so I can be better not worse. In addition to all that, I managed to found exactly my strong and weak points in translation and for me this is a HUGE benefit because without that, as a translator, I would have been still on the same level with nothing to develop.
Now I receive more work and I taste the variety in my work which, for me, means a lot. I am very happy with my work and I feel excited to know that there is yet more to come. The word "Thanks" sounds very small and limited as it does not express the exact help and my conditions. It is more than that.
